IT'S MORE COMMON THAN YOU THINK: In the course of regular conversation with different people, the Topic of organizing kept resurfacing. I often heard comments like, "I really need to get in that closet and throw out the clothes that don't fit my son anymore," or "I need to file all these papers, but I am not sure if I need them. And If I do, where do I put them?" or "The basement? I haven't been down there since our last family camping trip a few years back!" Naturally, I would offer suggestions, and before I knew it I was at their house. Here was something that I truly enjoyed. I believed that I could offer this service to others outside my circle of friends. MY GOAL: My goal is to teach my clients systems and routines that they can incorporate into their daily lives. The strategies and tips become so automatic that they are able to manage things by themselves. That is incredibly empowering. But there must be investment on the client's part. There is no quick fix. Hard work, commitment to change, and time will create a better lifestyle. We all know what happens if that investment is not in place: Change does not happen. Sure the room, closet, basement, or office may look good for a month or two. But without maintenance, the space will return to its original state - chaos. |
